Mark Rowsthorn, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Mr Rowsthorn was formerly Executive Director of Toll Holdings Limited where he was responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and financial performance of all of the Toll Group divisions within Australia, including Patrick and Pacific National. He was responsible for the development of Toll’s strategic direction and the execution of its major business objectives.

He played an instrumental role in identifying and managing Toll’s numerous acquisitions over 20 years, including the 2006 acquisition of Patrick Corporation.

Mr Rowsthorn was co-founder of Toll Holdings and assumed the role of Executive Director from the time the company was formed. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the transport industry.

Don Telford, Chief Operating Officer

Mr Telford was previously the CEO of Pacific National. He was also the Group Director of the Toll Logistics Group, responsible for the development and implementation of Toll’s Logistics strategy.  

Mr Telford has played a key role in the integration of new businesses into the group, focusing on delivering performance outcomes through process integration and extracting synergies across various companies.

Prior to joining Toll, Mr Telford was Executive General Manager of the Logistics Group of TNT Australia, responsible for establishing and developing TNT’s logistics presence and capability in the Australian market.

Austen Perrin, Chief Financial Officer

Mr Perrin was the CFO of Pacific National and previously a Director and CFO of Toll New Zealand Ltd, where he was responsible for the integration and restructure of TranzRail.

Mr Perrin has spent seven years in the Toll Group, previously as Group Financial Controller for the Networks and Logistics Groups, responsible for overall business unit finance and accounting.

Prior to joining Toll, Mr Perrin spent nine years with TNT in various corporate finance and management roles with responsibility for its rail freight business.

Fiona Mead, Company Secretary

Prior to joining Asciano, Ms Mead was Assistant Company Secretary at Telstra Corporation Limited for five years, including being Company Secretary of eight active subsidiaries, three joint ventures and over 180 subsidiaries. Before joining the Company Secretary’s Office, Ms Mead was Telstra’s Networks Counsel, a role which required advising on all aspects of construction and management of telecommunications infrastructure.

Ms Mead is a Fellow of Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Saul Cannon, Group General Counsel

Prior to joining Asciano, Mr Cannon was the General Counsel – Mergers & Acquisitions & Telstra Asia at Telstra Corporation Limited. He was the lead Telstra lawyer on T3, the A$15.5 billion sale by the Commonwealth of its remaining shareholding in Telstra. Over his 9 years at Telstra, Mr Cannon also worked in a number of different business areas, including three years as General Counsel and Company Secretary of TelstraClear Limited, Telstra’s New Zealand business. Prior to joining Telstra, Mr Cannon worked at leading Australian law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques.
